M&E Contractor Survey October 2026

2610 MEP worker

G&T’s October 2026 MEP Contractor Survey captures the views of 25 specialist MEP contractors. Findings show that order books have firmed since May but trail last year: average secured workload stands at 90% for 2026 and 59% for 2027, up from 82% and 55% in May but below 95% and 62% at the same point last year. Even so, 83% of contractors expect turnover to grow next year.

Our latest survey results cover:

  • Secured workloads
  • Middle East conflict and materials pressure
  • Steel and copper price trends
  • Labour availability and wage inflation
  • Construction staff resourcing
  • Design complexity and risk allocation
  • Data centre demand for plant and labour
